2024 has been a big year for Emproof, marked by innovation, strategic partnerships, and, of course, our commitment to securing embedded systems against ever-evolving cyber threats. From advancing industry collaborations to securing new funding and launching groundbreaking solutions, here’s a look back at our 2024.
Strategic partnerships for stronger embedded security
In November, we announced a strategic partnership with DDC-I, enhancing security for Deos™-based systems. This collaboration combines DDC-I’s robust real-time operating system with Emproof Nyx — our advanced binary transformation technology. Together, we address sophisticated threats like reverse engineering and exploitation attacks in critical industries such as aerospace and defense.
Embedded World Exhibition and Conference
We were thrilled to return to Embedded World Exhibition and Conference 2024 in Nuremberg, held from April 9-11.
Last year, Emproof Nyx took home the Embedded Award for software. This year, we debuted a live demo of Emproof Nyx, demonstrating how our solution defends against reverse engineering and exploitation attacks. Attendees experienced firsthand how commonly available tools can be used by attackers to analyse software — and how Emproof Nyx can neutralize these threats.
Innovation in Open-source tools
In 2024, we launched Nyxstone — an advanced LLVM-based (dis)assembly framework. By open-sourcing Nyxstone under the MIT license, we contributed to the broader developer community, providing powerful tools for code assembly and disassembly across multiple architectures.
RISC-V’s impact and the importance of Embedded Security
We also collaborated with RISC-V International this year to help address the challenges of securing RISC-V-based systems. As the adoption of RISC-V architecture accelerates, ensuring robust embedded software security has never been more critical. This collaboration underscores the importance of aligning innovation with security, ensuring that RISC-V’s rapid growth is supported by resilient and reliable systems.
FACT project: Securing Europe’s cyber defense
We joined the Federated Advanced Cyber-physical Test range (FACT) project, an initiative funded by the European Defence Fund and led by Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. The project, which officially launched in Oslo in January, brought together 19 organisations from 15 countries, united by a shared goal: enhancing Europe’s ability to test and mitigate cyber vulnerabilities in critical equipment.
Seed Plus funding: Investing in the future
Our successful Seed Plus investment round, led by TIN Capital and Auriga Cyber Ventures, positions Emproof for continued growth and innovation. This funding sets the stage for a Series A round in late 2025, focusing on growth, further technological development, and new opportunities.
Looking to 2025 and beyond
We close 2024 with a clear vision: to continue pushing embedded security through innovation, collaboration, and commitment. Look out for our new webinar series coming early 2025!
